Affiliate disclosure

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may receive a commission from the seller. The price you pay is the same either way — the commission comes out of the seller's margin, not your pocket.

Where the affiliate links are

Affiliate links only appear inside comparison and review sections, and every page that contains one shows a disclosure box at the top, above the link. If a page has no disclosure box, it has no affiliate links.

What the commission does not change

• I do not recommend a product because it pays more. Where two options are close, the guide says so.
• Criticism stays in. If something is weak, overpriced, or aimed at a different person than you, the guide says that.
• Sellers do not see or approve these pages before they are published.

Why the disclosure is there

US Federal Trade Commission guidance requires endorsements to disclose a material connection clearly and conspicuously, close to the recommendation. Pinterest's commercial content guidelines require the same for affiliate links. Both are the reason the box sits above the links rather than in the footer.
